Saturday's Snapshots: Beechworth

With Beechworth and its surrounding area featuring prominently in my family history and this past Valentine's Day marking the one hundred and sixty four year since my 4th Great Grandfather murdered my 4th Great Grandmother Catherine Rhall near there (see posts herehere, here and here) I thought that I would post some of our family photographs from trips we taken there over the years.  While it has changed greatly since the days when James and Catherine and family lived there Beechworth is one of our favourite places and I have so much more exploring and research I want to do there when time allows!  Other posts of mine mentioning Beechworth and surrounds can be found here, here, here and here.  More information on Beechworth can be found here.

Sunday's Obituary - Honorah Quirk nee Costello (1815-1897)

Honorah Quirk (nee Costello) is my 4th Great Grandmother and is the subject of today's Obituary posting.  Born in Tipperary, Ireland the daughter of Michael Costello and Ann Hogan she came to Australia in 1841 on board the ship Gilbert Henderson with her husband Michael Quirk.
