Wednesday's Wedding: Michael Green and Mary Anne Bell

Today's posting concerns the marriage of my 3rd Great Grand Aunt Mary Anne Bell and Michael Green at Trinity Church, Berrima in 1861.

MARRIAGES.

On the 4th instant, at Trinity Church, Berrima, by the Rev. S.S. Hassall, Michael, third son of Mr. John Green, of Mittagong, to Mary Anne, eldest daughter of Mr. William Bell, innkeeper, of Eling Forest, near Berrima.


Unfortunately the marriage did not last very long and the two went their separate ways.  Mary Ann moved with her parents and siblings to the Gundagai area of New South Wales and went on to have a long term relationship and at least nine children with Charles Williams.  While Michael Green apparently ended up in Queensland and died there in about 1913.

Sunday's Obituary - Honorah Quirk nee Costello (1815-1897)

Honorah Quirk (nee Costello) is my 4th Great Grandmother and is the subject of today's Obituary posting.  Born in Tipperary, Ireland the daughter of Michael Costello and Ann Hogan she came to Australia in 1841 on board the ship Gilbert Henderson with her husband Michael Quirk.
