Sunday's Obituary: Louisa Annie Ryan nee Jones

Today's post involves my 3rd Great Aunt Louisa Annie Ryan nee Jones. She was born on the 18th April 1861 the daughter of Joseph Dolphin Jones and his wife Annie formerly Mitchell nee Quigg. Louisa was baptised on the 5th of January 1862 at All Saints Church, Sutton Forest. On the 10th of June 1889 she married Patrick Joseph Ryan at Goulburn. She lived with her husband and children in Cootamundra for many years before moving to Sydney in about 1936. Louisa died in Sydney on the 31st of December 1946 and was cremated at Rookwood Crematorium.

Transcription: 

The death took place recently, in a private hospital in Sydney of Mrs Louisa Anne Ryan, for many years residents of Cootamundra. Two sons survive - Horace, Sydney, and Bert, at Otford, on the South Coast.

This Afternoon at 3:15 o'clock, for the Crematorium Rookwood, Walters and Son, Dulwich Hill Terminus. LM1676.

I started this post a while ago and was going to finally finish and post it yesterday however our four grandchildren came over and I got sidetracked.  Our grandchildren range in age now from six down to one;  they are so full of life (each of them lights up a room when they enter it) and we feel extremely blessed to have them in our lives.  After spending the afternoon researching this post, their arrival made this tragedy even more poignant for me and so I appreciated their company even more than usual and hugged them a bit tighter too!  This morning I woke up to a cold, wet and windy Wagga day and the thought of three little girls out in August weather like this, in light weight dresses with no shoes or jumpers impacted on me even more.
