It has been some time between posts lately, mainly due to life being full on with family commitments and health issues. My fiftieth year has proved to be an interesting one, to say the least! I broke my left ankle in late February, which slowed me down considerably (or so I thought at the time) and took longer than I thought it would to recover fully, but finally last month I was back to doing more things and ticking items off my very long to do list! Then nearly two weeks ago I ended up with a tibial plateau fracture on my left leg after an accident involving a car and a metal fence with me pinned between the two. I was extremely lucky to come away from that with just the fracture and bruising and am very grateful to still be around, as it could have easily been a different story. As the fracture was not displaced I have not had to have surgery but I do have a rather uncomfortable ankle to groin leg brace with a 30 degree movement restriction and am non weight bearing for the next four weeks when it will be reviewed again. Needless to say my plans for the end of the year have been thrown away and I will just have to go with the flow of life yet again. The timing is terrible as there is a lot going on around here that needed me to be fully fit and on deck not sitting around doing nothing, but the situation is what it is and some work arounds have already been arranged. One of the silver linings of the situation however, is that I am hoping that as I have more time on my hands than I expected to at the moment that I will at least be able to pay some much needed attention to my blog 😊

After spending the afternoon researching this post, their arrival made this tragedy even more poignant for me and so I appreciated their company even more than usual and hugged them a bit tighter too! This morning I woke up to a cold, wet and windy Wagga day and the thought of three little girls out in August weather like this, in light weight dresses with no shoes or jumpers impacted on me even more. Those poor babies! One of the girls was found still clasping her doll that she had carried with her over the whole tragic journey. When my husband and I were looking around the Wagga Wagga Monumental Cemetery some time ago we came a...
